Recently, I was sitting in a coffee
house in Toronto when I noticed these agitated young (
30 something) people giggling and laughing and having a
good time. They were talking about a new website they
had discovered that was " like totally awesome"
and "brilliant" and was "the bomb"
but had a "cheeky name". To my complete shock
I heard them mention CanadianBullshit.com. My god they
were talking about my site!!!
The Internet is a special place where
people from all over the world can post just about
anything they want to without editors or the permission
of the powerful people who run things. But just because
you post something doesn't mean that everyone sees it.
There are millions of websites out there and if you have
a few hundred visitors a month you are doing much better
than most. We get that many in a day. We have become a
meeting place where people from all over the world who
are sick of bullshit gather to see what is really
happening.
The facts- just the facts. No special
interest spin. No religious dogma. No political
spin.
Now we all know that a certain
percentage of the people in this planet are...idiots.
One not need look too far to confirm this. Check out the
comments on the CBC news site and it should be
abundantly clear to you that idiots are alive and well
and are posting on the internet and are posting websites
spewing their own particular form of maladaptive
behaviour. This website is different. Review all the
links below and you will see pure genius at work. For
example you will discover the actual formula for
bullshit. You will discover facts which will save you
huge amounts of money and grief. And you will be
entertained too! And it is all free!!
Our opinion is the the traditional media
is used as a weapon by the powerful to control how we
all think. Have you ever noticed that just a few people
own all the newspapers in Canada or the radio or TV
stations? They tell us what reality is and if reality
is as they say then we think in a predictable way. But
if reality is something else then we have just been
manipulated. As an example I use politicians who
are well known for putting their spin on the facts to
the point where reality is distorted. If you have three
political parties you will have three different opinions
on any fact. They can't all be right!
Bullshit comes in all sizes and shapes.
Lets consider a stool. A stool is a minimalist structure
designed to let a person sit down. There are lots of
situations where a chair is not required and a stool
will work better. Basically all a stool does is provide
a smallish place to put your bum. A stool usually has
four legs so that it won't tip when you sit on it. The
portion of the stool where you place your bum is usually
round. Sounds simple right? Wrong.
There is a certain amount of engineering
that goes into a stool. The legs for example normally
require reinforcement about the half way point and there
needs to be some reinforcement where the legs join the
seat and everything needs to be strong enough to
withstand all humans who use it. You may have a young
child of 65 pounds sit on it or a big guy of 250.
Now enter the bullshit. Lets say that
you owned a stool factory. Your customers wanted a
cheaper stool but you were giving them your best price
on a quality stool. They said cut the quality and give
us a cheaper stool. So you made them a cheaper stool
with three legs instead of four and with lighter
material and a lighter load rating. You knew full well
that this design would fail when a heavy person used it
but you built them and sold them anyway.
When does the bullshit start and stop?
Take a look at the Toyota Prius. Toyota is in full cover
your ass mode (CYA). And yet there is something wrong
with their cars that is killing and maiming people. They
sold those cars telling us they were superior in quality
to our North American vehicles. Bullshit? Absolutely!
Look at Air France flight 447. Are they
and Air Bus protecting their brand or trying to solve
the problem that brought down that flight?
Our Canadian society is knee deep in
bullshit. We can't trust our politicians, our media and
some of our major institutions and businesses. But there
is hope.
Because not all people are stupid. Not
all people believe what they are told. There are still a
few of us who critically analyse the information that is
being pushed at us.
Lets consider
Canadian Banks. Has anyone considered why they are
making so much money in a recession? How can that be?
How about the war in Afghanistan? Why are we there?
After eight years the Taliban are stronger and we have
lost too many good people and billions of dollars of
equipment. And now we learn that the government is NOT
going to replace the destroyed equipment, nor replace
our aging Naval supply vessels nor supply our forces
with the offensive equipment it needs to win a war. What
is happening here?
What is going on
when we go to purchase some fish at the grocery store
and the fish that is caught in Canadian waters is
processed and packaged in China? The box displays a
Canadian name and suggests that the product was
inspected to Canadian standards but the damn fish came
from China!
Why is it that we
do not have a Canadian designed and built car by a
Canadian company. Are we a third world country? When you
check out the number of patents per Canadian and compare
it to other countries we are far far down the list. Why
do we have some of the most expensive cell phone service
on the planet?
Why is it that so
many Canadians feel they must be politically correct to
the point where the Vatican actually warned the Canadian
government about the sudden rise of the Muslim
population in Canada? Why has Canada allowed so many
agents from China to operate within the country? Why is
Canada considered to be a haven by the world's criminals
and why are criminals given more rights than their
victims in Canada? Why is Canada a drug and pornography
capital for the world? Why is BC bud the largest Cash
crop in BC?
Why do so many
Canadians over 85% of us live in a one hundred mile
strip clinging to the USA border and within that strip
we congregate in just a few population centres?
Why is it so boring
between the Alberta border and Huntsville in Southern
Ontario. Miles and miles of absolutely nothing except
trees and grass. In the winter it is even worse. If you
have made the trip a few times you know what I mean. The
fact that so few people live in that area is further
proof that it is one of the dead spots on the planet.
And it gets worse as you venture north from the border
where population density approaches zero and you can go
hundreds of miles without seeing another human. There is
a reason for that. Nobody wants to live there!
Canada is a virtual
country. We are not the "true north strong and
free". Much of what is written about Canada is
bullshit. In fact the average Canadian dreams about
vacations out of Canada to anywhere just not here. The
average Canadian is up to their eye teeth in debt, can't
afford to purchase a home or new car and can't find a
family doctor. And it gets worse. The average Canadian
family can no longer afford to take a vacation or enrol
their kids in hockey.
Why do we have so
many special interest groups in Canada that distort
reality to achieve their own goals?
The average
Canadian has an excellent sense of humour and has
learned to adapt to problems rather than to solve them.
While we tolerate people of different races we maintain
our cultural identity and maintain a tribal loyalty to
members of our own racial backgrounds. As an example we
do not elect a Prime Minister unless they are of British
or French racial background and male. We prefer
the concept of tolerance to the concept of equality.
Unlike our cousins to the South we are not a melting pot
where citizenship makes us Americans. In Canada we too
often hyphenate our citizenship with our racial
background first.
What we have done
on this website is to uncover bullshit in our society
and where appropriate -suggest a better way. The menu
below opens up into over 150 topics. You won't agree
with all the points made. You may find some more
interesting than others. Some may anger you! Some are a
combination of opinions and facts. But these topics will
save you time money and grief. In some cases in
substantial amounts. And please remember that I don't
pretend to be a professional correspondent or web
designer - I am just a retired guy with a good sense of
humour having a bit of fun. This is all done without an
Editor who otherwise might catch spelling and other
mistakes.
