Here
we tell it like it really is minus the spin from special interest
groups. As good as Canada is there is a surprising amount of bullshit
mixed in with the good and here we uncover it and suggest a better way.
The result is an entertaining website that saves you grief, money and
time. We have many thousands of visitors from all around the world who
view and enjoy the site.
I don't pretend to be a
professional investigative journalist or for that matter a professional
web designer. Our web design was done on a long obsolete copy of
Frontpage2000 and there are lots of websites out there that look much
more professional and have lots more bells and whistles to them. They
have an army of designers and maintainers working for them and cost in
the millions each year.
You might notice that nearly all the pages
have a heavy dose of humor in them. There are a couple like the
Afghanistan or Poverty pages that do not because the topics are just too serious
but I try my best to keep the rest amusing as most of life is. And where
a problem is uncovered we try our best to come up with some workable if
usually unconventional solutions.
Links are included to other sources of information and
opinions too. When we tread in an area where there are lots of
competing opinions we try and include an on-line poll so that you can
express your opinion and also get a sense of what other readers feel. Sometimes they agree and
sometimes not! And we also discovered that the internet allows even
the stupid people to express an opinion- some would say we fall into the
category! If you doubt this simply check out the comments section
on CBC.ca on almost any topic. We investigated that topic in greater
depth on our stupid page.

special interest group.
Spelling mistakes and typo's - yes
you will see these here as there is no Editor or staff to review and
polish the articles many of which were written and posted in just a few
minutes. If you are a retired English teacher or a person who is enraged
by these type of errors -my apologies it is all my fault! If you can
please send me the errors
and I will correct them.
Starting with one topic, the site grew to over 100
all
free- and is
now the largest of its type in the world.
We post an map on our main index
page and several other pages which show where visitors from all over the
world are coming from. We are regularly monitored by very powerful
people, consumer groups, financial institutions, the government and
people all over the world with concentrations in Canada and the USA. We
have received some very positive input over the years and are grateful
for the kind comments. Occasionally we get the odd brick tossed our way
too which is understandable. We posted some of the comments here.
Like many webmasters I tried
offering affiliate program ads like Google adsense, eBay Partner and
Commission Junction but I discovered that not only were the ads annoying
but that many advertised products that the website targeted as poor. So
I removed the affiliate advertising with the exception of the Amazon
program which I feel is a good one. I also operate separate online businesses
such as our publishing company
and northtreasure.com and
although both are successful it would not be fair to our customers to
use those operations to subsidize this site.
More recently we have moved away
from our affiliate websites too reducing our core holdings from over
three dozen sites to just the ones we personally control. The affiliate
model once worked well but as it began to break down (at about the same
time the world economy took a nose dive) those running the programs
began to play tricks with both the public and their affiliates. The
process to divest ourselves of these websites is ongoing and will take
place over the next few weeks as time permits.
We continue to support this site
because we feel there is a need. There is just way too much bullshit in
Canada at the present time. Our political system is in tatters with most
voters being turned off the process. Our tax system is so abusive that
new taxes are added while professing that they aren't taxes and are
"revenue neutral". Our Military is being abused and squandered
in a war that has been terribly mismanaged for over a decade. We have
one of the richest countries in the world yet still have Canadians
living in poverty, addicted to drugs and unable to afford prescription
medication. The list goes on and on and we cover many of the topics on
this website.
The thousands of people who review
this website are presented with what we suggest is an unvarnished review
of reality not the spin that the rich, powerful and political place on
facts to conform with their objectives.
