A Canadian inventor Mr. Willie VanderStadt has "pretty much solved" the high cost of fuel problem for our cars.
He has invented a natural gas collection system which involves the insertion of a small neoprene bladder equipped with two one way valves. The device is "more comfortable than you might think" a tester said.
The human body releases on average 26ml of methane gas per 24 hour period. The device separates the methane from the 575 ml of hydrogen and nitrogen also produced in this period. Once a week the device is emptied into a larger collection tank and this process only takes about three seconds. A family can collect enough methane to send the family car on a 40 km daily trip with no problems and essentially no cost. "Simply eating more beans will extend the daily range" said Willie.
Environmentalists are "absolutely thrilled with the invention as humans are responsible for 70% of the methane production in the world and as a greenhouse gas it is a significant form of pollution". The cars are referred to as "fartmobiles" by their critics have been tested on a limited basis in BC using a modified Smart Car as a test vehicle.
Gas company executives have been extremely critical of the project calling Willy "an idiot "and stating that the method is "not upwardly scaleable" and would result in "dangerous volumes of gas being collected in family homes and near young children" They are in the process of "buying this mad inventor out so as to protect the average consumer from what is obviously a dangerous scam" "We don't care how much it costs" they said. "We feel we have a public duty as energy providers to ensure the marketplace is safe so that when you take your family out on the highway you won't need to worry that the SUV passing you and blowing up and destroying you and your family in a fiery inferno."
