You know who I am talking about. We all know people like this. People who have an opinion on everything including areas outside their (usually limited) areas of expertise. It doesn't matter what the topic area; health, religion, politics, design, military tactics, the weather, the man on the moon -these goofs will absolutely assail you with their unwanted and usually incorrect opinions. Why I say?
I think its because they are stupid. Check out the link it will explain all!
Its a as simple as that. And so there is no real recourse. You just need to find a way to put up with them. You can't or shouldn't shoot them. Usually they are harmless although very annoying. Unless you tell them to "shut up" they will drone on for hours at at time.
The reason that I find these curmudgeons so annoying is that while they are going on and on about their (stupid) opinions and ideas that prevents me or (perhaps) you from sharing ours. Which are invariably correct, insightful and helpful. As you can clearly tell by this website with it's over 110 topics. What do you do...when you live in a shoe!
Update March 13/2008 I have been thinking about this a bit more. Perhaps it was incorrect of me to say that highly opinionated people are stupid. In fact they are extremely stupid. There. Everything else still works.
Update August 23.2009 I have been told by several people now that I should have been much tougher with describing highly opinionated people with the use of potty talk and using words like "retards" but I must draw the line. This website is a potty talk free zone. And the problem with using the noun "retards" is that most of our retarded people are quite nice even happy with their lot and it seems so grossly unfair to pick on them when so many so called normal people like these know-it-alls are obviously so maladjusted. I appreciate the suggestions but we try and keep the website on a happy friendly tone-unless we are ripping the guts out of some unfair situation which really deserves it.
