I don't know how many times I get asked "Capt Ron how do I make money on the Internet??" I usually say "go away" or "talk to the Corporate Secretary" or "read Marcie's book YOUR VERY FIRST BILLION or "I'm too busy" or "call me after lunch" or whatever. But the questions keep on coming. And some I might add are a little rude i.e. "Ron if somebody with your abilities on a pension can make money on the internet I could train my parrot to do it so what's the secret? I can only assume that they are trying to be funny but still.... So I will tell you how to make money on the internet right here. Then we can go on to other things.
Oh and give yourself three or four months before deciding if the idea is working or not. Watch your visitor stats and see if there is a trend up ....or down. Some claim that you can make huge amounts of money in a day or so but basically...they are lying to you! I say basically because actually there are ways to make a fair amount of money in a couple of days for example a three day auction on Ebay. Last but not least don't go out and spend a lot of money on it. Give yourself a budget of say $200 and I'm pretty sure you can follow the directions here, keep within that budget and be in a profit situation by the end of month four. It may happen sooner but I don't want to exaggerate and generate unreasonable expectations.
There is a very good chance that you will be able to generate what we all dream about -an independent revenue stream that flows as we sleep and do other things. I know it can be done. (Why you ask? - just one guess....)
1. Get yourself an Ebay Account. Basically you cannot make any serious money without one. There are free to get and take only a few minutes to sign up. Here is a link. Its no big deal and it starts you off.
2. Get yourself a PayPal Account. Again you cannot make any money on the internet without one. A paypal account allows people to purchase items from you, allows you to send them invoices for goods and services and allows you to purchase items on the internet. Here is a link. They are also free to sign up. Just carefully follow the directions.
3. Find yourself a wholesale supplier so that you can purchase inventory for resale. Here is a link for several wholesale supplies. It will cost you a small amount of money but somebody has done a heck of a lot of work for you and it will save you time and money in the long run.

I strongly suggest that you purchase a copy of YOUR VERY FIRST BILLION It's available in print and as a download and I recommend the print edition as you will wish to carry it with you and use as a reference. I think its much easier to read that the 25 lines or so you get on a computer screen. I know its an excellent book because my publishing company published it. 420 pages of insight which you will find both entertaining and enlightening. Obviously there is an ulterior motive if you buy the book because we published it but on the other hand I know it contains the information you require and you can own it for much less than a bucket of chicken and a six pack which will only get you indigestion. The book will start you off on your fortune, a nice car, great vacations and a trophy spouse! I know some will still take the chicken...
5. Now with all this knowledge you need to make some basic decisions on what sort of product or service that you would like to sell online. Spend some time on that one and determine how many you need to sell per day, what your expenses will be, what the selling price needs to be and what the competition is. Once you nail down those points it will become clear what needs to be done. Again read over the book as it lays out the information you need to know and need to consider. Its not difficult. But you need to do it.
6. You now require a website. This is how you will make contact with your customers and collect your revenue and sell your product or services. Think of your website partially as your marketing and sales department. While you are sleeping or partying or fishing or whatever your website is working around the clock in all time zones for you. I would suggest to start that you consider buying a pre made website on ebay. The following link displays websites that are available now and are priced between $1 and $100. There are also some that sell for much more but its best to start with something cheaper to see how they work. When you are looking at the terms be sure to check out any transfer fees, domain registration fees and hosting costs. All the listings will be different. Sometimes you can find them with free hosting for a year or very inexpensive hosting under $6 a month. Know what you are buying and i suggest you purchase something that you are interested in. Also check out the feedback rating for the seller as that can be very informative. Some have been doing it for a long time and are power sellers. Others are just starting out.
