OBESITY IN CANADA
This one is bullshit piled on bullshit! There are a lot of people in Canada that make very good money to keep you as fat as possible. The fact that overeating will lead to overweight then obesity which will then lead to morbid obesity and early death and disease does not matter to them. Here I show you a solution that works and it won't cost you a dime! I am now down 73 pounds the little lady to the left is still scarfing down twinkies and cheese poofs.! and hoping for a magic cure.
The people that make this money are the people who prepare and sell fast food, advertise that food, those in the weight loss business and those in the clothing business. Imagine the clothing business getting new customers every few months each time their customers swell to a new size. Imagine the money the advertisers make trying to get you to buy a pizza or fried chicken. Imagine the money farmers make selling beef to be turned into high fat hamburgers. Lots of rascals trying to keep you as fat as possible. Until your heart gives out someday.
The people who sell weight loss products are making billions a year for products and services that mostly don't work. There is an all persuasive message out in Canadian society that eating crappy foods and drinking beer and booze is really a cool thing to do. Meals are super sized and contain enough calories for a family of four. Kid sized menus contain enough nutrition for an adult three times the weight. It's lunacy. It must stop.

The poor fat folk develop all sorts of health issues -Diabetes type 2 being the worst. It happened to me and it can and likely will happen to you if you become obese. Luckily I was able to identify the bullshit and see the solution to the weight problem. Unfortunately it will not cure my diabetes but it may give me a few more years of life and health. Here is the secret.
All you need do is have a life style change. Its no more complicated than that. There are no special diets, no weight reduction pills, no personal trainers or health club fees to pay. If you want to develop obesity or grow into morbid obesity keep up that diet of beer, pie, fried chicken, hamburgers, pizza and ice cream. Simple. If you want to loose weight and save your life and health simply change your lifestyle and cut those things out. After all you had your share. In fact you had more than your share and that's part of the problem! And that's why you are the size you are now eh!
Since changing my lifestyle over 12 months ago I have lost a respectable 51 pounds (now 73 pounds) without any diet or pills or any personal trainer! You can do it to. And beat the bullshit artists. And as this unfortunate young lady in the "swim suit "(who gives an all new image to the phrase "girl in a bikini") proves there is no upper end to the obesity scale -you just get bigger and bigger with all its attending problems and health risks. And then you die. It's very sad for those who are obese and yet the answer is simple enough for most fatties -just change your lifestyle. The human body is actually a very attractive and efficient package -but not when its morbidly obese.
Don't count on your friends at the fast food restaurant to help you or your buddies selling diets and exercise services. They will all try and make money off you. Stick it to the man. Drop the bad foods from your menu forever and live! Or chow down and die. Your glutinous life style and a society that pushes bad food caused the problem and that can be changed if you want to. Have a nice day!
Wendy's came out recently with the Baconator a glutton of a hamburger with two meat patties and six slices of bacon with 880 calories 51g of fat 22g of saturated fats 2.5 g of trans fats, 170 mg of cholesterol and 1920 mg of salt. (taken directly from the Wendy's website!) These people are not doing you any nutritional favours. In fact they are killing you. And they brag about it! The daily suggested maximum for salt is 1500 mg for cholesterol is 200mg. The suggested fat intake per day is 53g and for saturated fats 18g. This is bullshit especially given the horrible situation with obesity and its attending diseases with our young and mature citizens. Oh and customers usually toss in fries and a drink -just to be sure they kill themselves faster. These people should be tossed in jail for what they are selling to the public.
This sandwich could feed four! Some add a litre of beer or pop and ...a donut?
Just remember there is quite the food conspiracy going on in Canada (and the USA) these days and a lot of very rich people depend on you eating foods poor in nutrition. One bottom line is that fast food is cheap to prepare and sell and consequently there is an excellent profit margin in it. That $15 pizza you just bought cost the man $2.13 to make. That sticky bun you bought for 1.75 cost .20 cents to make. The beer you just bought for $3 cost about 15 cents to brew. Yes they have operating expenses but the bottom line is that the fast food you buy is extremely cheap to make and unskilled low paid staff can make it. You can fill your trunk up with sugar or wheat for less than the cost of a tank of gas. They heavily advertise causing editors and media owners to not want to do anything to kill their golden goose. You have been lied to and taken advantage of for decades and now its time to stick it to the man. A life style change will do it and have the happy effect of saving your life too. Go for it!

There is really no upper limit to your weight IF you practice gluttony-this is a self inflicted problem you CAN easily solve simply by changing your life style -nothing more! Nobody can do it for you. No need for diets, personal trainers, pills, etc etc -just change your stupid lifestyle before you eat yourself into an unhappy grave.
If you are a typical male "chick magnet" like this dude and wondering why the Ladies are staying a safe distance away and why you have type 2 diabetes and indigestion and ED then you might just consider that just possibly your life style needs to be changed.
You thought you might top out at 200 pounds back in your 20's then surely 300 pounds is impossible but now over 400 pounds and growing it slowly sinks in that a change is required. You don't know it yet but your heart and kidney's are hanging on by a thread and if you sneeze the wrong way some day you are a dead duck. I never got as bad as this poor bastard but I was certainly headed down his path.
To get as huge as the people above just eat these fat pills and it will happen for you. There should be a law against selling these dangerous foods but people are actually making a huge fortune killing you with them.
Update for those under 21 A few weeks after writing this I realized that some additional information would help our younger readers. The human body is still growing until the late teens and then filling out somewhat in the early twenties. As you will have noticed there are kids who are built differently than others. Some are built on a small frame and others on a larger frame. Some are long and angular and others are stockier. Some have fine features an and others features are larger. So some will naturally look slim while others will naturally look stocky. Some have clear skin others have really terrible skin. The message here is that you are what you are.
If you have a tall slim friend and your frame is shorter and stockier you simply will never be skinny like them. Its in the genes. Its important that you respect what you are and do your best with it. Its just the way it is. All of us when we were growing up saw people who were especially attractive but looking back I think the proportion was very small. I think we are only looking at less than 5% of the population that would fit into that category. So 95% of the population look like they look! You just need to make the best of what you have you can't change into something else. Its the way it is. And you need to deal with it. You see the same things in sports. One person in the group will be a super athlete and the others just able to play the game. We all can't be super athletes.
But where you CAN have a lot of power over is extra weight. Thanks to a more sedentary lifestyle and poor nutrition many young people are becoming fat and even obese and morbidly obese. You only get ONE chance to be in you absolute prime condition and that is in your youth. If you carry a lot of extra weight then there will be medical problems later in life. You really owe it to yourself and your parents and your friends to be your best. You will feel better, clothes will fit better and you will look better.
Again it all comes back to life style. You simply cannot scarf down burgers and fries and sugar pop and all the junk food, sit down on a video game for hours and expect to be fit and in your healthy weight range. You need to live a healthy life style.

Sometimes the old folks who have been there and done it have a few good ideas for you. We are all depending on you to carry on as we fade into old age and history. So get out there and get some exercise, start eating apples instead of cheese burgers and learn about good nutrition and how you can have a long, healthy and happy life!

Update June June 5/2008
I just stumbled on something to play when you are exercising. As an experiment take a look at this kids video of Dev2.0 on youtube. Now here is the deal. Try and keep up with the beat and simply mimic the actions of the lead singer who looks about 12. I don't think its possible. But if you can do it your are most certainly in shape. I wouldn't do this if you have a heart condition because it might kill you. And I would get blamed. Here is another one. Just out of curiosity I counted the beats on the second video and got 160 per minute. If you can exercise to that and mimic the same moves as the little kid I would be very surprised. I suspect only a top athlete could do it I sure can't! Do three dev2.0 videos in a row and see what it does to your breathing and heart rate. Try it! That should take off a pound!
Other tricks -serve your food hot. This way you need to eat is slower and it usually takes 20 minutes for the tummy to send the "I'm full" message to the brain. So if you have a large glass of cold water and eat slower you suddenly realize that you are not hungry anymore.
One thing that I noticed when I changed my lifestyle and eliminated certain foods is that there was a period of adjustment where you find you body no longer craves some of the foods you previously pigged out on. In fact some foods like of all things carrots started to taste as good as a chocolate bar did in the old days. I really like fresh apples now and would take one over a chocolate bar any day and in the past it was just the reverse. I have talked to others who noted the same thing when they eliminated sugar in their coffee. So there is this strange period of adjustment when the body seems to learn to like alternate foods and that same feeling you got when you ate the old crap that was bad for you starts to appear when you switch over to the stuff that is good for you. I'd say it takes from 2 to 5 weeks to really notice the change but when you do all the old cravings are gone and you start salivating over carrots and salads and fruit and such. I know it can be done because I have done it so I hope the information helps you.
After a short while food like this begins to become much more appealing to your body than the old crap you were gulping down. Trust me -it really happens
The other thing is that when you do start a weight loss trend you tend to feel much better as the weeks and months go by. Your tight clothes fit and then are a bit too big as you drop down a size. You start to have this feeling of well being that comes from the knowledge that "things are getting better" and as time goes on it does!
So you don't need to go on a diet. Diets don't work anyway. Just change your life style. You can do that right now. This instant. And from this instant your life will get better and better. If you don't start now and have a weight problem now things will only get worse and worse from overweight to obese to morbidly obese to clothes that don't fit to type 2 diabetes (like me) to illness and death. Look at it this way. You had your share of food. That's what got you to where you are today. Now its time to change and start the trend towards something better. It might take a year or three years but you will get there if you change your life style.

Just thought I might mention I am down 68 pounds since being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I am convinced that the ideas I have suggested here do work. I still have a way to go. Another couple of pounds and I will just be obese instead of morbidly obese. (see below). So it can be done!
HOW CAN YOU START?
1. DETERMINE WHERE YOU STAND
Obtain your accurate height in inches or cm. We all change a bit over the years. Have somebody help you. DO IT IN BARE FEET.
Obtain your accurate weight in your birthday suit in pounds or kg. This is NOT as easy as you might think because morbidly obese people often exceed the max limit of their scale - I did. I bought a new scale.
2. Calculate your BMI - your body mass indicator here This will tell you where you stand. It will convert a subjective thought ("too fat") to an operationally defined number so you know exactly what the situation is.
- Underweight = <18.5
- Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
- Overweight = 25-29.9
- Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
- Morbid Obesity BMI of 40 or greater
3. Change your lifestyle its as simple as that!
You are what you eat. These are high in fat, salt, trans fats and bull shit. You will plump up just like them. Think Rat Poison and you aren't far wrong. You had your share its time to get the old you back again. Oh and the six pack and white buns to go with them. Think again. Look at the fat folks above. Change your lifestyle NOW!
Every few weeks check out your weight again. If you have changed your life style things WILL improve if not things WILL get worse and you will very likely die early and or come down with various diseases including Diabetes type 2. Trust me this is exactly what will happen to you. I know. And speak with your doctor before doing any exercise if you are obese or morbidly obese. It could kill you. Get your weight down first!
4. Check out the nutrition boxes (on all Canadian and US foods) before you buy or eat. After a while it becomes automatic and you will put the bad ones back like a hot rock. Did you know as a rule of thumb that canned veggies have 300 times the salt content of fresh veggies? Some foods have a ridiculous amount of salt in them. Don't eat them.
In the Navy we would call sunburn "a self inflicted wound" and that's what you can call obesity. In the old days Doctors would call it gluttony. Its up to YOU to solve it. You will feel so much better for it and your daily life will be much more enjoyable and healthy. If you know a person with a weight problem please refer this page to them. It might be the best thing you can do to help.
