Big big big and we don't just mean the A380!
At first I didn't believe this one. Apparently viagra increases performance of athletes at high altitudes. Not to bore you with the details but the active ingredient of viagra (the trade name) is sildenafil which inhibits phosphodiestrase-5, an enzyme which in turn degrades cyclic guanosine monophosphate a cell messenger that causes the blood vessels to relax. The drug allows greater vasodilation and hence greater blood flow.
Now we move along a bit to the new airbus A380 which is equipped with beds and small private suites. The beds are large enough for two people. Already the fast ones in the group -the bright bulbs so to speak are getting the idea -the potential that is of certain types of behavior associate with the often mythical mile high club. The A380 can cruise at 43,000 feet which is over eight miles high or eight times as high as the mile high club bar. The drug company never tested viagra at an elevation of eight miles because who in their right mind would be in that position they thought.
Some are saying there is a 50% increase in size when taking the drug at an elevation of eight miles. This could have disastrous consequences should an unwitting couple try to engage in some perfectly legal marital act at eight miles up in the privacy of their chic yet extremely expensive private cabin in the sky. The first airline to fly the A380 has requested that passengers not have sex in the private rooms but there is some suspicion that the reason they are quoting is not the real reason. They are saying its a privacy issue as the rooms although private are not sound proof. This is all bullshit. The real reason is the very real danger of physical harm that could occur with all its attending legal and medical problems should an injury occur in flight after one of the team downed the little blue pill.
Its hard to believe! But there you have it. Bullshit at 43,000 feet.
